I personally don't think it's ethically ok to change someones appearance like that, because it's not only going to affect the person emotionally, but it's false to the audience and is absolutely wrong. Yet, it's worse because it's making young adults believe that someone can look that great when in reality it's false. The only types of changes that might be ok is the clearing, sharpening, levels, and fixing color. Nevertheless some that aren't ok would be erasing significant objects, cropping w/no limits, and making the image false.
I think that differences in fashion photography and photojournalism is that, fashion photography lies alot more than photojournalism and is used differently. In the other hand, photojournalism is expected to tell the truth about some type of story, and is used in absolute ethics.
